News: My New Gig(anotosaurus)

I’m delighted to announce I am assuming an editorial role at GigaNotoSaurus – the monthly webzine for speculative fiction that falls outside the usual short fiction word count (we like the term “longish”).

In a three year run, founding editor and publisher Ann Leckie (and guest editor Anna Schwind) gave a great home to amazing stories, several of which have been nominated for Nebula awards. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the home of the giants, may I suggest the following catchup reading:

And a few of my personal favorites:

I have big shoes to fill, and I’m excited for the challenge.  Like photography, editing is all about having a distinctive eye for finding a story. I’m looking forward to bringing my own style to the job, while continuing the mission that Ann began. The submissions guidelines remain the same, and only thing different about the submissions process will be the name on the replies.

Keep sending GNS your best in longish short fiction: longer than a short story, and shorter than a novel. I look forward to seeing you there!

And editor’s tip: If you haven’t had to chance to pick up a copy of Ann’s new book “Ancillary Justice” do so, post haste! The buzz it’s generating is well earned.
